Access to Group Policy Object

While logged on as administrator, I cannot access GPO. The specific message
is "Failed to access the Group Policy Object. You may not have appropriate
rights." Under details, the message is "The system cannot find the path
specified". Anyone have any ideas?

Dose this happen to all GPOs, Have you seen

"Failed to Open the Group Policy Object" Error Message Occurs When You Try
to Open a Policy As a Domain Administrator:

I can open the Local Policy object, but not Domain or Domain Controller.

Start with the most simple things. Is sysvol and netlogon shared out
Are you able to \\domain.com\sysvol
If the event gives you a full path try mapping to the path and see if you get an error message

Are there any events in the Application log 1000,1202 Those can sometimes yield more info about the problem
