Access running very slow

Our organization is running accounting program through
Access. It is a client/server application. (MDB files
on w/s and mdb files on server. We have had several
complaints that the software is running very slow. On
SBS2000 server we have installed terminal server which is
much better. On the SBS2003 servers Microsoft sd we
cannot use terminal server.

Do you have any idea why the system would be slow
processing in Access? All systems have 256Mb of memory
or better, Access2000.

Your help is appreciated.
