Access resources on a local server when DC is down

Our remote location has a single server with about 5
PCs. They are all part of a single Windows 2000 Active
Directory domain.

When the WAN is down (that makes the Domain controller
located here at our data center unavailable to this
remote location) the PCs at this remote location cannot
access their local server.

The user can log in as a domain user into the PC because
his ID is cached but cannot access the server. Any way
around this problem ?

THANKS

Other than put a domain controller at their location that is physically secured,
about the only thing you could do is give them local machine accounts with the same
logon name and password as their domain accounts. Of course none of the user
configuration part of Group Policy from the domain will apply to locally logged on
user. --- Steve
