Access NOVICE

I have read and practiced the MS Access 2003 step-by-step guide. There are
several things I cannot seem to make happen in a form.

1. Confine the form to one prinetd page other than put in page break.
2. Force one date field to show dd_mmm_yy even though I have specified this
using the input mask in the table.
3. Force the post code to convert to UPPER CASE even though input mask
reads!>LL00_9LL
4. I have scroll bars on dialogue boxes where none were specified?!

I haven't even started to work out how to use formulae and pivot tables yet.

Bad habit. Forms are not for printing. Create a report. I know Access
allows printing forms, but it still is not a good idea.

2. Force one date field to show dd_mmm_yy even though I have specified this
using the input mask in the table.

The Input Mask doesn't determine what is displayed. It controls how the
data is entered. To control the display, use the Format property.

3. Force the post code to convert to UPPER CASE even though input mask
reads!>LL00_9LL

The leading ! causes right to left conversion. What language are you
working in? I don't know, but try taking it out to see what the result is.

4. I have scroll bars on dialogue boxes where none were specified?!

You probably have more on the form than can fit without scrollbars.

Many thanks. I'll give the reports module a shot. What I am trying to
achieve is data capture as well as produce a printed task sheet for drivers.
