Hi,
We use Access 2002 in a multi-user environment, 4 users. All the s/w is
2002, the DB's are 2000. The issue is, Access keeps making backups while the
users are working. I go onto the folder on the server and find several
backups have ben made, no one is making them. I thought Access doesn't make
backups unless the user does it thru the backup function in the OS. Any
ideas?

Hi,
What are the backup files? db*.mdb ?
If so, your access application may be setup to compact on close.

Or, if the files are filename_Backup.mdb, those files are created when
ACCESS crashes and the user says to make a backup of the file and to try
repairing the file.

Access crashes? :-)

I've read other people's posts that indicate that this does happen....

'Course, never happens to a semi-pro like me....

(P.S. I can sell the Brooklyn Bridge to the first person who wants it,
too!).
