I converted a databases from '97 to '00 without any
apparent issues. Multiple users work in the file residing
on our network, at the same time.

We are now experiencing Access.LockFile.9 issues. When
the file locks we receive messages stating the database
needs to be repaired - but we can't open it to repair it.

We found a repair tool online, and it works temporarily -
but we need to know what's causing the issue and how to
fix this.

Any suggestions?

Tony, we have a somewhat related problem with the .ldb file. A user
logs into the application, then quits normally, then immediately logs
back in. The result is that duplicate records show up in the LDB for
the user. The first record was not removed when the user quit the
application the first time. The records are removed _when the user
reboots or shuts down their workstation_.

We have turned off opportunistic locking on the file server (among
other recommended tweaks) to deal with corruption, but I wonder if
this is affecting the timely update of the LDB file?

TIA for your thoughts.
