Access.lockfile.9 question

I've read the previous post on this issue, and the replies were informative
but I still don't know how to get rid of an access.lockfile.9 file that
appeared in my folder last week. I created the database that it refers to a
few weeks ago, and have not had problems until now.

The database is on a shared drive, accessable by about 20 people in the
office. I created and modify the database on my local (C:) drive, make
backups every evening on my C: drive, then transfer the modified version to
the shared drive for use by the office. When I tried to do that this morning,
the system would not let me delete the old .mdb file to replace with the
modified version. That's when I noticed the .ldb file labeled
access.lockfile.9

How do I get rid of this file? I can't delete, rename or move it. No one
else has the database open.

Sometimes it's necessary to reboot the server to get it to release its
handle on the file.
