I'm considering migrating Access front-ends linked to SQL server and access
front-ends linked to Access back-ends from a file server to a SAN,
specifically EMC Celerra. Is this recommended?

Thanks

The above should not be a problem, but I was not aware that you could run
sql server on those san products? If you can, and those products actually
run windows 2000/2003, then I see no problem. Regardless, if sql server runs
ok on those boxes..then the above will not have any problems.

Now, that is a different ball game, and a more difficult problem. I have no
idea how that network storage product works. However, if they run windows
2000, or 2003, then they should work ok....

A ms-access file share is somewhat a special case, since file locking, and
multi-user features of the windows network system is used, so, you need a
compatible windows file system in that case.
