Access Denied

I've been redirecting folders from my user folder to a new RAID1 volume &
everything seemd to go OK. Just for the heck-of-it, I asked that one folder
be returned to it's default location & was denied access. I've also noticed
that the current location is called F:\username instead of F:\foldername. Any
ideas?

You might try taking ownership. Check out newsgroup contributor, Brink's,
instructions at the following link:

Did that first. Thanks
If your only desire is to redirect the folder back to its original location,
you might try temporarily turning off UAC, redirecting the folder to its
original location and then turning it back on. Control Panel\User Accounts\
Turn User Account Control On or Off.

Okay, try moving the contents of the folder first and you may have to do
this one file at a time, just move it to a temp folder. Then try moving the
folder.

Thanks Michael.

Actually, I had already discovered that was the only way to move the data -
folder still won't move. Then you have to create a new folder but it comes up
a generic folder missing the "Location" tab. Searched around for that problem
for about 2 hours. All kinds of remedies that don't work. Finally discovered
the .dll that the green folders a located in and started over.

The point here is I'm testing & it's failing. If you can move but not move
back to default, why offer the option. Needs work. Hoping someone from MS
would jump in here.

Sorry to take up your time.

That is odd. I'm thinking the problem may be the fact it's on the RAID
drive.

However, let's look at something else. You said the folder on the RAID
drive is under "username" instead of folder name." When you attempted to
move the folder did you attempt to move to at location under your user name
on the original drive. If not, you might try that.

Second, have you tried copying the folder instead of moving it?

No problem about taking up my time, that's why I'm here.:)
