Me for You

I have a home network with four (4) computers ( 3 hardwired and 1
wireless). I can access some disk files on each computer from all four
computers. I t varies from computer to computer on which files I can
access. I am running WinXP Pro with SP2. I log on as the Administrator
in all cases and file sharing is tuned on all systems.

The error message I get is as follows:

("File Name") is not accessable. You milght not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of the server to find
out if you have access permissions. Access Denied

Thanks in advance for your help.

Most literally, this would be a permissions issue. Is Simple File Sharing
disabled on the server?

This could also be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other
security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be
the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Thank you for the help. I rechecked everything and all the permissions
on the "Sharing Tab" were set fine but when I clicked on the "Security
Tab" permissions were not set. I reset the permissions there and now I
can again read all files from all machines. I will never know how they
got changed but it was all of a sudden when some files were not
available. All that matters is now I have the capability back.

Thanks again
