Access denied to open Documents folder

Hi,

I am trying to help a friend of mine with this problem. She just got a new
Dell with Windows XP Home edition pre-installed. She turned it on, and set
it up to network with her old pc to transfer files over. That worked fine,
she got the files transferred. But now on the on the new pc she can't open
her Documents folder; it says access is denied.

I found a link that I thought would solve the problem:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810881

This didn't work, as there is no 'Use Simple File Sharing' checkbox, and,
there is no 'Security' tab when you right click/properties the folder

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions.

In XP Home you have to boot in safe mode to see the security tab.
