Access denied message when accessing shareddocs

I am having trouble connecting two Win ME machines to a
Windows XP pro machine. The machines are netowrked on a
Lan. I can see the machine but when I try to access the
shareddocs folder, I get an Access Denied message. The
folder is shared and is not set to any security protection
on the network, that I am aware. The XP Pro machine is
able to see and use data on the other machines, even send
data to the other machine's hard drive. But the ME based
machines cannot access the XP Pro shared folders. I amnew
to XP Pro and feel I am missing a setting. Hope someone
will recognize a familiar problem, thanks in advance.
