Access denied after setting up shared documents

I tried to set up file sharing between a pc and my laptop both on XP pro. I
goofed and moved all my documents into the shared documents folder. Now I get
access denied trying to open them and I would like to move these files back
to my docs. I tried to disable in the folder options but nothing seemed to
happen. Any help out there?

I restarted in safe mode and was able to copy many files back to my docs, but
there are still files that say access denied. Seems like I've read every KB
article with regards to similar issues, but still no luck with access being
denied.

If you read the right documents you should have read that you may first need
to take ownership of the folders in order to grant yourself full control
permissions as an administrator. When you take ownership be sure to select
replace owner on subcontainers and objects. If you still have problems the
files/folders you can not access may not have inheritance of permissions
turned on and you may need to change permissions on each folder or try
selecting replace permissions on all child objects in the advanced page of
security for the parent folder. Also keep in mind that if your user account
is a member of any group that has deny permissions you will need to remove
the deny permissions. Administrators are also members of users,
authenticated users, and everyone groups. --- Steve
