Access and FTP

I have a "completed" project management Database, split, and compiled. I want
to be able to share the database with our subcontractor's and clients for
viewing and report printing only.

We have a ftp site. My ISP tech guy is telling me that I can place the FE &
BE on the site and that by setting up a DNS to the FE that our off site users
can open the database in their browser.

That doesn't sound right. I actually just placed the FE and BE on the FTP
site and opened the application it's table links still pointed to the BE on
our server not the copy on our ISP's server.

Is what this guy is telling me correct? Or is there another way to share
this database with our clients and subs?

Your ISP guy is a little out of his league. An FTP site IS NOT a shared
network drive on the internet. All you can do is "put" and "get" files, not
share a database. For a web enabled database you need web programming, ASP,
that sort of thing.

I talked to the ISP guy again today and he is positive it will run from the
ftp site. I think out of his league is generous.
