I have Office XP on my PC, but I still have the need to
open and design some older Access 97 databases. So, I
installed Access 97 on my machine, but I get the following
error when I attempt to launch it...

"Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license
for it on this machine"

I'm using a valid copy of the software, and my license
code checked out when installing, so I'm not sure what I
need to do now to get it to work.

This is a commonly encountered Microsoft bug, due to (of all things) a
font. Go to http://support.microsoft.com and find article 191224 in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base; it explains how to avoid the error.
