Access 2007 queries will not open in design view

Yes, I have tried the suggestions in thread "Can't access design view". I
get the error message (" is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not
include invalid
characters or punctuation and that it is not too long. ) I believe my
queries have open in design view in 2007 without problems in the past. All
of my queries give me this error message. Has anybody found a solution?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

It is not the queries, but the linked tables to a backend mdb file. Steps
that I had to take are:
1. Import all tables in the backend mdb file into a new backend mdb file.
2. The linked tables in the frontend mdb file cannot be deleted. So,
import everything EXCEPT the linked tables into a new frontend mdb file.
3. In the new frontend mdb file, create links to the tables in the new
backend mdb file.

Can you put it a bit more simply please. where are these backend files? i
create queries in Access 2007 which then cant be opened in design view again.
also, the same error message, " is not a valid name, comes up when i try to
import any excel 2007 spreadsheet, even a simple one.

Thanks

A backend mdb file contains tables of data that is linked to the frontend
mdb file. My guess is that you are not using this technique. If you are
creating queries for a DB that someone else wrote, ask them about it. With
that said, try compact and repair. Also, try importing all of your tables,
queries, reports, macros, VB modules, etc into a new blank MDB file.

I just got off the phone with Microsoft. This is a known bug as of May, 2008
but they have not yet provided a fix.
