Access 2007 Copy - Paste

Recently I ran into a problem when MS08-074
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/958437) was applied to excel.
After the patch is applied to a workstation you will recieve an error message
anytime you try and copy data from an excel spreadsheet to an access database
table. You will get the following message.

"The data on the clipboard is damaged, so Microsoft Office Access can't
paste it"
There may be an error in the clipboard, or there may not be enough free
memory. Try the operation again.

Microsoft has confirmed this is a problem with this particular patch. Right
now the only workaround I found is to either paste the data into a text file
and then copy it over to the access table or Import the data into access
using the import function in excel. You also have the option to remove the
security patch entirely to resolve the issue.

Microsoft says this will be fixed with Service Pack 2. If I had my bet a
hotfix will be released before that happens.

Hi Edwin,

Here's an article I wrote a few weeks ago that offers three
workarounds for this problem. Including options that don't require
removing the security patch. Hope it helps:

Good luck.
