Access[2007] Copy and pasting table field names

R

Rob W

Greetings,

For the life of me I can't copy and paste table field names from the tables
design view into another MS application such as Excel or Word.

I can only copy n paste within MS access, the information has gone into the
clipboard as the paste option is available but ONLY in MS access.

I've also attempted drag n drop without success and didn't want to write and
execute some SQL just to display field names.

Is it possible to copy the field name from MS access and dump it into
another MS application?
I did a search and found a link to Microsoft issue but it appears to be for
an old version.

Any advice?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

If you are just looking for the field names, you can export the table
to a text file or to Excel, specifying the inclusion of the names. If you do
not want the data, create a query on the table that does not return any rows
and export that.

Otherwise, you can use the Database Documenter (Database Tools ribbon),
select the table(s), set the documentation options (Options... button) and
then e-mail the result as one of the various file types to yourself.
