Access 2007, Cannot open Properties window in form design view.

First time use of Access 2007 on new install from Office Ultimate on
XP SP2

Created a new database.

Created a new form.

Right Click on the form and select properties.

Nothing happens.

Same result for a button on the form.

Rebooted the computer with no change in behavior.

Same experience with a report.

Cant see any configuration setting that will disable or hide the
design properties window other than the properties sheet button in the
database tools tab.show/hide section and it has no effect

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

RobGMiller...

I see EXACTLY the same problem on my laptop. All databases have the same
behavior. Does anyone know what is happening??

I have no idea if this will work for you, but it did for me. I also have no
idea how it got screwed up in the first place.

First, log on as a new Windows user to the computer to see if you have the
same problem. If you can open Property Sheets as the new user, export the
following registy key in regedit:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access\Settings\CommandBars

Then, log on as the original user, and double click the exported REG file to
import it.

This worked for me. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply imagirlgeek.

The suggested technique works well.

You can also just delete CommandBars or rename it without the need to
export etc.
