Access 2003 install

Kelly

My OS is XP Pro, I have office97 installed and am using
Access97. I also have the XP Office Suite. Can I install
Access from that suite and have it run independant from
Access97. Any special directories to create or whatever?
Thanks...kbe

Trying to run two versions of Access doesn't work. I tried it. It used to
work with Access 2.0 and 95 but after that it didn't.

I have done it with 2000 and 97. I haven't tried with newer versions but
have heard that it works the same. Normally, install the oldest one first.
Install each version in its own directory structure, so you'll need to
change the default install directory starting with the 2nd version.

Here are a couple of articles that may give you some help:

Suzette,

Sorry, but you're wrong! Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

As long as you pick a custom install, and specify a different folder, you'll be able to
install multiple versions of Access onto one PC. I have Access 97, 2000 and 2002
installed on my PC. Yes, there are some issues that one runs into, but it can be done and
its very common for developers to have more than one version installed.

I have 1 computer with 4 versions, and several others with 2 or 3 versions
including this machine which has 3 versions. (97, 2002, 2003).

Install in separate directories or partitions and remember to open with the
right program and you'll rarely have a problem. About 1 in 50 times that I
open Access 97, it will hang and I'll need to reboot to use it.
