Access 2003 Error at Startup

Just launching Access 2003 by itself, not even opening a database. After
the Microsoft Access window appears and the splash logo goes away, I get a
message box:

Microsoft Office Access:
A problem occurred while Microsoft Office Access was communicating with the
OLE server or ActiveX Control. Close the OLE server and restart it outside
of Microsoft Office Access. Then try the original operation again in
Microsoft Office Access

The message has only an OK button, which when clicked, immediately throws
the same message again, without limit. Switching focus to another
application and back also throws another message box (same message)

I'm at work, and my installation disks are at home so I can't presently do a
"repair" of the access install, but I need to get around this.

If there's some goofy COM / OLE / ActiveX thing that needs to be
re-registered then fine, I can do that, but it's hard to guess where to
start poking for things.

Any ideas?

I ha this one and I used Control Panel / Add Remove Programs / Microsoft
Office 2003 / Reinstal or Repair / Detect and Repair ... successfully.

Sorry ... stll don't know what caused the problem in the first place.
