Access 2003 db hyperlink security warning on each link

I have a database with hyperlinks out to *.tif images stored on an external
hard drive (this is a home office). The hyperlinks work, but every time I
click one, I get a message warning me about security, viruses, use a
trustworthy source, etc. I click "ok", and it takes me to the image, but I
can't keep doing this for each one. I tried setting the macro security to
low and that did not work. I created my own digital certificate and added
that to the database in the visual basic editor, and that did not work. The
certificate says the CA Root certificate is not trusted in VB, but it shows
as a trusted published in the database. How can I fix this? Also, if I have
another person who needs to use this on their machine, will the same fix
apply? What if I need to copy this and send someone a copy of the db and
images? Thank you. Using XP prof, Office 2003, IE 6.0

Are your Internet Explorer Intranet settings set to include this drive within
your *trusted* local intranet?

Those are for the database itself hon, not for external files that the
database might open.

That question would be better answered in a windows security newsgroup. We'd
just be guessing.
