Access 2002 runtime deployment fails

Just as when Windows Server 2003 and XP SP2 came out Vista gives the same
error when trying to install Access 2002 Runtime. Having fixed it for W2K3
and XP SP2 is there a new fix for Vista.

The error experienced ends with: requires Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or
later

I am aware that the fix for SP2 does not do it for Vista, hence my entry
here. Does anyone know which additional files are missing in Vista that I
need to remove from the same list?

Delete the entire list of file names listed in ospfilelist.txt and you will
ensure that no missing files will stop you. That worked for me on some Vista
PC's.

I still have some issues where Vista tells me the installation is of the
wrong language, even if I set the install PC to US language... Seem to
remember this was na issue when the developer was brand new in 2002 for XP
installations.

Hi Morton

I found this information from the microsoft office discussion groups.

Remove the following files from opsfilelist.txt
DBMSADSN.DLL
MSXML.DLL
DBNMPNTW.DLL
SQLOLEDB.DLL

I think this is a fix from Microsoft and it worked for me.

Thanks for your assistance anyway.
