I have received a lot of help from this site in attaching word documents to
emails, but unfortunately my clients want the word doc as the body of the
email - I am struggling as they will not accept a text file. - any
suggestions please? My clients are using Outlook and attaching docs is fine.

I'm a bit confused here. A file can't be in the body of an email.
The contents of that file as text can be in the body of an email as
can formatted HTML but not a file. But a file, or files, can be
attachments.

So which is it?

My clients have hundreds of word docs stored outside of access relating to
businesses on the market. When they get enquiries from prospective customers
they record them on the access db and email the respective details to the
customer. However, they do not want the details as attachments because they
assume the customer can change the word docs after saving them. This is why
they wish the contents of the word doc (which can include photos) to be
imbedded in the body of the email.

Gotcha. Of course there's nothing stopping the recipient from copying
the body of the email to Word and doing whatever they want.

Umm, Embedded photo's. I know that can be done as I get spam with
embedded graphics.

You will need to use Automation to read the contents of the Word
document file including the photo's. Exactly how that is done I'm not
sure as I have no experience with Word. Excel I've done enough
reading and writing of spreadsheets to be dangerous. I'd suggest
asking in a Word VBA or programming newsgroup.

Then you can create the body of the using HTML and send it off in that
fashion. See the Outlook specific links at the Access Email FAQ at
my website. http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/email/outlook.htm
