My computer came with Office 2003, but no Access. I have
a small network where other computers use a Access 2000
database. Can I install Access 2000 on the computer that
already has Word & Excel 2003 without experiencing
problems? Is there an article that addresses this
process?

Yes you can. The only problems you may experience is if you are using
automation. Access 2000 has no way of knowing what Word 2003 is. Excel is
generally automated with version 5.0 code, so you will probably be fine with
Access to Excel, but might have trouble with Excel to Access. In any case,
it's worth a shot. You can always uninstall or upgrade if there's a problem
that you can't handle.

First question. Do you own a copy of Access or a license that can
legally be added to that computer?
