Accepting Invitations

Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000 Professional
Internet Only mode.

When someone sends a meeting request from their local install of Outlook
(v2000) to me, all I get is an email message about the meeting, not an
accept/decline type invitation.

Do we both have to be on an Exchange server in order to do something like
this?
Thanks.

They would need to create a contact for you and specify only Rich Text
messages for you. The only way meeting-type messages arrive intact across
the Internet is if they are sent in Rich Text.

Hope this helps.

This didnt work. I sent a meeting request to a friend in RTF from Outlook
2000 (to his Outlook 2000) and it still came through as a regular email, and
even had a link at the bottom to our OWA client.

Something else at work Im missing here?

Thanks.

What type of server is the meeting origionating from? A quick answer is
open the meeting and select Actions>Forward as iCal. This should perserve
the meeting.
