Acccess 2007 Deployment

Access novice

I have been using MS Access since 2000. Recently I started using Access
2007. I downloaded and installed the Developer Extensions and Runtime.exe.
I was able to create a couple of runtime apps using ‘Developer’. Now for
some unknown reason, I can no longer see the ‘Developer’ selection when I
click on the Microsoft Office button.

You likely had some "startup" problem and access disabled this add-in

the developer extensions are what we call an "add-in". That means if the
add-in is disabled, the even re-installing the developer extensions WILL
NOT result it showing in the access menu.

the simple solution here is to simply re-enable the add -in..

office button->access options.

On he left nav pane, select add-ins

then, on the very bottom, you see a combo box with "com add-ins" and a
beside that a button "go...".

Click on go

You see a list of your add-ins, and simple re-check the ones you want...in
this case the developer extensions.

So, if answer "yes" to disabling some add in that access gives your during
startup about a add-in having a problem, it will be disabled. I think also
sometime if you have two versions of access and frequently switch between
the two, I seen some of the add-ins not re-enabled...

So, do the above. Keep in mind re-installing the developer extensions
usually will not help the above until you re-enable the add-in...
