A2007 runtime on computer withA2003

I sent one of my users an A2007 runtime file. He has a computer with XP and
A2003. After the runtime.exe download, the runtime installation appeared to
work. But, his A2003 programs "went wild". Buttons wouldn't function for
example. I can't find any cautions in the microsoft write-ups. Is there
some thing that has to be done to make the runtime work when A2003 is
present? When he uninstalled the exe file, all started working again, after
several tries.

I know that I could have made an mdb file for him, but intent is to send a
runtime file to all users. That way they can run the program on any of their
computers with XP or later, even those without Access.

I didn't think Access2003 got that bad after an install of the access2007
runtime but currently I do not of any solution that works other than
sagekey. Usually you just have some reconfiguring when you switch between
access 2003 and access 2007 runtime.
