Umm, that's not "entirely" accurate. UA WILL identify any known issues
with devices and installed software prior to upgrade. It certainly
doesn't find everything and it certainly may not be 100 pct accurate but
it certainly is better than anything else available.

you missed my point...
yes, it will identify known issues, at least one would -hope- it would - but
it does something else.
It flags a lot of current hardware as OK, when in fact it is not.

I actually had an MVP tell me here (after I had [4] pieces of hardware fail
that UA said were fine), that MS never actually said the hardware would
work -right now-, but rather it -might work later- if drivers are ever
available...
some of the best spin I've ever heard here still.

Is it better than nothing? IMO, no it is not.
I have a pair of dice sitting here that are just as effective as UA.

Mind telling us exactly which 4 pieces of hardware you have installed
that fail to work under Vista?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. The firmware for my DV drive has
fixed the DMA problem (at least for the moment!!). The Scanner and TV card
drivers I think I've tried before; but will give them another shot.
