Absolute and Relative paths

G

Gerry S

When I add picture to my html newsletter in the design
view of FP, the html page automatically enters the src as
a relative path. When I change it to an absolute path and
hit save, the html still shows up as a relative path.

Is there a setting in Front Page I need to change so that
when I change a relative path to an absolute path it
remains an absolute path instead of reverting to a
relative path?

There is no setting to set or change.

You need to actual link to the images on the live site, and then when FP
prompts during saving, to save the embedded file, select the option to not
save the image, etc.

This often happens when a person edits a web page without opening the web
first. As FrontPage is capable of working with web sites and web pages that
do not exist in web sites, and there is no web opened, FrontPage treats the
file as if it were a local file-based HTML document. This means that
FrontPage puts all image references in the document as file links.
