Generally speaking, yes.
Get a UPS (uninteruptible power supply, not a delivery truck) so that you
will have a couple minutes to gracefully shutdown your programs and system.
When the system is killed by pulling the power, you may end up with lost or
corrupted data files (if you're lucky, you'll at least get back whatever you
last saved - you do hit save every five minutes, right???) As others
mentioned, you may also end up with corrupted or not-up-to-date
configuration information. Sometimes the system comes back ok, sometimes it
may just get trashed.
