Hello all,

I have change the settings of some Services in Administration Tools. When
I startup the machine again, the settings are not saved and back to the
old settings. How can I save the settings??

B.t.w. what is the connection between Services settings in Adm. Tools and
the Services settings in System Configuration Utility?

I work with Windows XP Pro with all updates and S.P. 2. I have
Administrator rights. I am the only user :)))

gr. Carley.

Hi Carley,

Which ones are you changing and how are you changing them? Some are required
by the system and should not be disabled, others have dependencies involved.
Disabling some of them may render the machine unbootable.

The services tab of the System Configuration Utility (msconfig) is just a
mirror of the services found in the admin tool. It's good for
troubleshooting but should not be used for permanent changes.

After some troubles I want to set the services to the default settings at:
http://www.tweakhound.com/xp/defserv.htm

but when I have done this, when restarted the PC the settings have reset
to the previous settings. How can I make the new settings are accepted??

Oke, but when I compare them with the settings in Adm. Tools they are not
the same.
