abnormal program termination

I have started getting a status box with this message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

abnormal program termination

OK

When I click OK, IE6 closes and I have to restart it. Any
ideas why or what I can do to fix it?

Run your adware/spyware scanner. Then when it completes quarintine and
delete them. After you have done that double-click Internet Explorer
and go to the following: Tools->>Internet Options->>Programs
Tab->>Reset Web Settings Command Button
