abnormal program termination error question

M

Michelle

Hello. I hope I am in the right area for this question,
here goes:

Whenever I use IE6 I frequently get this error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

program:/ProgramFiles/internetexplorer/iexplore.exe

Abnromal program termination

and then closes the windows and I have to go through the
iE icon to get back on. I have a cable connection and
thhank goodness my whole computer doesn't crash but it is
really annoying and I am forced to use Netscape which I
really don't like.

I have been trying to fix this problem by uninstalling and
reinstalling but to no avail. Does anyone out there know
what this means and/or how to fix it? I would really
apprecaite any advice.

Thanks!

-Michelle

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

NB: If you have ever downloaded HijackThis or CWShredder, it is urgent that
you upgrade to the latest versions before using them again. Due to a new
variant of the CWS Trojan, using either HijackThis or CWShredder on an
infected Win98 or WinME computer may lead to severe damage to that computer.
You must update to the very newest versions of these programs before using
either of them again, and you should get a new copy of CWShredder before
each and every use.

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
