ABIT BD7II-RAID (400/533) + P4 3,06 GHz (533)

Hi
I would like to try to upgrade my computer bu replacing an old processor
with a newer one (with HT).

My current motherboard is ABIT BD7II-RAID (400/533). Currently the P4 1.7
GHz (400) no HT sits in there. I would like to upgrade it to P4 3,06 GHz
(533), not 800 because my motherboard does not support that. My question is,
does motherboard also support HT or it is just a processor. So, will + P4
3,06 GHz (533) HT work on that mainboard and will HT be active on this? I
also have DDR 266MHz RAM which will work just fine in that config. The
chipset is 845E.

Thx for answers

Hyperthreading must be supported by both cpu and motherboard, and it
requires 800Mhz FSB.
You might be able to run a 2.8Ghz (533), but as far as I know 3.06Ghz is
only available in 800Mhz (which won't run on a 533 board).

there is one model with HT on 533MHz (ant this model is 3.06) exactly!
