I just love this wedding blog Ciri - it's just like being there. You seem to have achieved so much since you began your preparations, so well done  Try to conserve a bit of energy for the actual ceremony though - you don't want to miss it by nodding off :D a bit of blubbering is allowed though, just be sure to wear waterproof mascara (that's if you use it) 'cos facial stripes is only a good look if you happen to be a zebra

Really glad to hear that the weather has warmed-up for you, will keep everything crossed for it to remain that way for your Big Day. :D

Thanks CL :)
& you also Taffy :)
I've never actually gotten married like this before so it's all new.
Last time it was just me & raymond
(No celebrant, it was never registered)
& we did it in a private ceremony at home.
we made our promises to each other
& then each signed a written copy.
it was private & very simple
I thought we were soulmates (dont laugh :p )
& everything would be wonderful.
We'd been living together for four months
& a couple for not too much longer than that.

Now I don't believe in soulmates.
Or maybe 'soulmates' is only about who you are then & there.
Not any indication of the future.
The situation is much more complex this time round
But I'm also happier in a much deeper way than I was then :)
But I'll definitely be wearing waterproof mascara.
The emo look might look good on my daughter
But don't think it'll match my wedding dress
Am a bit dubious about all this sunshine though
getting all this sun during the week...
probly have used it all up by the weekend
supposed to be a scorcher again today too
so will be booty shorts & sunscreen again today
Any how, brekkie's over so I'd better head off.
Gotta fill in that ditch :wall:
The goose fell in it the first night
He was coming down from up the back paddock,
All sleepy & in the dark,
for his bedtime snack,
& he fell in the ditch.
Told it off very soundly though
So it won't do that again

Aww, poor Pringle, what an undignified mishap to befall a proud goose  (laughing with him, not at him, of course) hope you managed to get your ditch re-filled (that will teach it to ambush an unsuspecting goose!)

Glad to hear that you are feeling so happy  I'm a bit of a softie and I do believe in soulmates, because I was lucky enough to marry mine almost 35 years ago (yes I know, slushy or what  ) so I really hope that you have now found yours and you will both enjoy very many years of happiness together:nod: :D

sooooooo tired.
Didn't get to sleep until 3.30am last night.
At the moment the wedding preparations feel much more real than the wedding
There has been some entertaining moments & interesting events to tell,
but I'm too tired to tell them
not much of a wedding blog
only one more day & then it's the big day.
So much to do.
The funniest thing today, I think, was trying to get John's cat pumpkin to the cattery (my cats are staying at home & the neighbour's daughter is comming over to feed etc them & pringle & gabby.)
Pumpkin is one of those cats that can smell a cat box coming 2 days in advance, so I was very surprised to find her curled up asleep on the sofa when it came time to put her in the box.
A bit of a snuggle then slipped her in backwards...
i couldn't believe how easy she went in.
The second time was harder however.
& after she had chewwed through the catch & escaped the second time it was full on.
i forget totally how many times i tried to get her in that box
but I do know that I suceeded four times.
The last time i used a steel ring to hold the door closed & she didn't manage to chew through that or force it open (you'd be amazed at just how much force she can get behind a head-butt when there's no run-up)
surprisingly i escaped from the adventure without lacerations (I was half expecting to be turning up for the wedding with a distinctly stripey & religious (holy) look.
This cattery is like cat heaven (it even has a fishtank built into the wall as 'cat tv' & climbing frames, branches, carpeted shreding things, dangly toys & high perches. There's even underfloor heating in all the cat's individual beds) I wouldn't mind spending a couple of weeks there myself, but I still felt awful leaving her there.
She'll probably come back spoiled rotten & expecting waiting on hand & foot... No, hang on, she's like that already
Oh well....
I'm most worried about Pringle,
That he might go looking for us.
But geese are very territorial so I expect that I'm just worrying about nothing.
Can't help worrying though.
Better go sleep.
I'm waffling nonsense.
Night night :)

6am
Normaly I'm a night person,
my own personal opinion has been that all time before 8am ought to be illegal
and the ideal daytime runs from about 9:30 until about 2-3 am
I usualy do my best work between midnight & 3 am
& the hardest change living with John has brought has been going to bed by midnight (I'm still wide awake & generally stay that way for another hour or more)
And getting up at 7am (disgusting hour... )
but for the last few weeks I've been awake before the alarm all but one morning.
generally closer to 6am than 7
& on weekends as well  :wall:
Very unusual for me. especially since I've usually been up until well after midnight.
Both John & my mother are worried that I'll have a seizure (stress & lack of sleep being prime causes) but so far nothing
& hopefully It'll stay that way.
I think since it's my body, rather than an alarm that's dictating my waking hours it's not having quite the same effect.
For the most part I'm not even feeling that sort of tired.
more physical exhaustion than mental (that did make sense... I'm sure... )
Although there have been a few exceptions...
Today's my last morning before the wedding,
John's still asleep & he needs it.
He's been much more exhausted than me.
was working 12-13 hour days & weekends trying to save for the honeymoon... then family emergency & it's gone. :(
Never mind, wasn't marrying his wallet & we can always camp outside shag point (named after the birds... don't be norty  ) for a couple of days if need be.
Better run have a shower.
then reckon I'll wake John up with brekkie in bed.
He's spending tonight in a hotel so this'll be our last morning together before....
lets hope the kids sleep in ;)

10.15pm, the night before....
& I'm up finishing off the music
& tidying up some lose ends.
Have to make sure I don't stay up too late tonight as there's a ton of stuff to do tomorrow morning & the people who were going to come & help have come down sick.
Dawn was going to be the welcoming hostess for the people who came earlier (I said I think that, since we're having to bus people up to our place & there's a limit to howmany we can fit in a minibus we've asked people to come up to an hour before the ceremony.
We've got snacks & nibbles, music & Dawn was going to welcome peole.
& now she's called in sick & the person who was going to fill in has backed out... ( )
& John's daughter was going to look after his dog... but she text'd me 2nite to say she's changed her mind.
leaving it a little bit late I thought
Oh well, i guess this'll all make great funny stories later.
meanwhile I'm busy taking in Tomo's bridesmaid outfit, it only needs a couple of stiches, but she's busy wandering around bragging about her cleavage...
She's quite impressed with the outfit & she's got good reason to be. She looks gorgeous!
It's just as well my wedding dress is so cool or no one would be looking at the bride... now... where did I put that sign...
Well, that had to be the sloppiest sewing job I've ever done...
She's now wandering around in the bridesmaid outfit, HIGH heels & pink pyjama pants
Not quite what I was envisiaging for the day

7:26am on the big day

Didn't really sleep at all last night.
just drifted off a few times & dreamed all the things yet to do.
organising things in my sleep :wall:
Think it was all the ginseng I've been taking this last week as much as the tension though.
weather is low cloud. sort of weather that could go either way. The forecast says cloudy this morning but clearing this afternoon and for once I choose to believe it
Got the music finished last night.
got a scarily long list of things to do this morning,
but am feeling mostly tired & nervous/excited about the wedding
rather than stressed about all the stuff left to do.
am nearly finished my cuppa so will have to go soon
I'll try & pop on again later
but if I can't I'll still be putting some piccys up after we get back
I won't be crunching again until then though sorry :(
Going to be taking the computer with us.
I had better go,
gotta feed the goose & scrub all the goose poo off the deck path & bridge
I wonder if many brides have that in their to-do list for the morning of their wedding
once more into the breech dear friends... :)
