a7n8x-vm/400 prob with video

I just bought a brand new Asus a7n8x-vm/400
I put on an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 512K 333FSB
An memory Samsung 512Mb PC3200 DDR400.

In the user guide I read:
Socket A for AMD Athlon XP 2700MHz+ processors
Unbuffered PC2700/2100 non-ECC DDR SDRAM memory

Is the AMD 2700+ would give me a better much performance?
And what's about my memory? Should I change it for a PC2700?

When I installed Windows XP Pro SP1, I had a lot of troubles. I did put my
AGP ATI card in the AGP slot and now no more problem.But I want to use the
video interface on the MB. No BIOS update on the Asus site. How to get the
best performance of my system with the integrated video?

Yeah, you may want to try PC2700 RAM. Somewhere in the
manual stated that the on-board VGA cannot be used with
PC3200 RAM. And I've similar experience as yours, PC3200
RAM with on-board VGA and Athlon XP 2600+ gave unstable
problems. My solution is to put in a cheap cheap US$35
Nvidia MX-440 AGP/VGA card, and everything becomes stable
like rock! I run linux (Fedora) 24x7 on it, and reboot
cycle is like 1 month (to upgrade kernel, add partition,
etc.)

My 2 cents.
