A7N8X memory question

Running a AMD 1900+ (266 FSB).. I have two 512mb sticks of PC3200
memory.. so how fast can I set my memory too? Should you only set the
memory speed equal to the FSB?
Also.. when I boot up now it says memory at 166mhz in dual channel
mode.. so does that mean its running at 332mhz..
I am a bit confused.. tho I cannot get it to run stable at 200mhz but
166 seems fine.

Win XP home operating system also.

nForce2 will gain little to nothing in having RAM faster than FSB. I would
run the chip on the highest FSB you can, with the memory in synch. You will
have to consider your multipliers but I think you'll be ok. Assuming your
default multiplier is <13 you should have no problems raising the FSB and
reducing multiplier.

No. The memory is 166MHz DDR, which is DDR333. The two channels run
independantly so the speed isn't really doubled.

With FSB set to 133?

There are some known stability issues with early revision boards and running
FSB and RAM not in synch.

Tks Ben,

I bumped up my FSB and lowered the multiplier.. got memory in sycn
with cpu.. this will have to do till I get a better cpu..
