A7N8X-E Deluxe SPDIF

Does anyone know how I can get the "optional" SPDIF IN/OUT connector in
Australia for a A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo?
I asked two computer stores and they both said that they can't get these
optional extras from ASUS! What's with that?
Any help appreciated.

Save your money. I have yet to see a posting from anyone who
has got the SPDIF-in to work. My theory is there is something
wrong with the ALC650 input, not being biased properly by the
Asus adapter, or the ALC650 needs a higher amplitude signal.
In any case, no one has posted back any success stories.

Buying a separate sound card with SPDIF on it might be another
solution, then use that for SPDIF-in. It would be better to
use SPDIF-out from the Nforce2 chipset, because it has that
AC3 encoder on it, and that is a rare find from a hardware
perspective. (At least from a digital perspective - if you
are happy with analog sound connections to an external sound
system, then a separate sound card could do analog out
and SPDIF-in for you.)

Too bad Asus didn't just put the SPDIF-in connector on the
motherboard.

I wasn't aware of the digital input problem, what a shame!
I will just use have to use my external soundcard from my other computer
when I need the spdif in I guess.
Thanks for the info ;)
