A7N8X-E Deluxe FSB Problem?

I

Ian Osborne

I've just aquired an A7N8X-E Deluxe. My problem is that the FSB options are
100,133,166 or 200 only. According to the manual they shoud be able to be
raised 1 at a time. The bios version is 1008 (latest)

Any ideas welcomed as 200 fails to boot into windows and my CPU is locked so
FSB is the only option.

TIA

You have to set the memory timing? and
maybe others to user defined.

Set the memory timing to 100% - these boards run best with the memory in
sync with the FSB. Also set your AGP Frequency to 66 MHz - this will lock
the AGP/PCI bus so you aren't overclocking them. Then you will be able to
adjust the FSB by increments.

Also if you like playing - and aren't afraid of a little thing like a BIOS
flash, I put in the 1008 Uber bios. It allows a few more adjustments and
allows bigger adjustments of things already in the ASUS bios...

Judging from the other responses so far, we've got too many "play it safe"
wimps in here....

I've got mine to 140 MHz - no big deal really, but I'm limited by cheap
generic PC2100 memory. Next time I have a few bucks burning a hole in my
pocket...
