TrueImage 7.
When I try to restore an image. my computer reboots as it should and then
a message says "Acronis TI loading please wait" then nothing, even after 15
minutes. Could this be related to the mobo.

Possible, but unlikely. Far more likely is that the image is hosed.
Easy enough to test tho'... Boot from a plain-vanilla DOS floppy, Knoppix CD,
or whatever -- anything *except* the TrueImage stuff. If the system runs
normally, it's not the mobo.
