A7N8X Deluxe - USB Connection to Amplifter

Hi @ all,

may somebody helb me please? I have the A7N8X Deluxe, with a 2200+ CPU.
Today i installed the latest nVidia W2000 drivers (4.27). All drivers and
BIOS are at latest revision - now -. There is a USB connection between my PC
and my Amplifter. Before the installation of the nVidia Drivers, the sound
worked very well. Since the new nVidea drivers are installed, i cant hear
the sound any more. My Amplifter appears still as an usb-connection.

Does anybody know, whats wrong? Thx for your help

After a few times installation/deinstallation i tried to install the
sound-drivers manual. It worked! Wondering whats the difference between the
automatic installation and the manual installation?

I don't know, but the latest version of the driver package for Win2k is
5.10, not 4.27 (which is the latest for 98/me).

Additionally, there is an updated audio driver, but I had problems
installing it, so wouldn't bother if you were me.

Good to finally get input that someone else had problems with that audio
driver patch on the nVidia site. I thought it may have been me but I
tried all different ways of installing and went back to the ones that
came with 5.10. I kept loosing EQ and tone controls no matter what.

There are 3 audio "devices" in the audio driver for the nForce2, they are:
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) MCP Audio Processing Unit

The first one is hidden, so you need to view the hidden devices.

However, the computer reboot itself updating one of them. Upon reboot I had
the new driver installed, but no audio device according to Windows. I
updated the other drivers and still nothing.

I uninstalled all the drivers, rebooted, ran the 5.10 pack, before hitting
next I copied the new driver into the directory of the driver set and then
installed it. It came up with some missing file stuff, so I gave up. I
don't have any issues with sound so the update is not worth the hassle.

I suspect there will be a new driver pack pretty soon for nForce4 and that
updated audio will be packaged with that.

It appears you are correct. Since this A.M. I've found out the Audio
Driver on nVidia's site needs a different nVmixer utility to operate
properly. The one in the Beta Win64 pack does the job. The EQ and tone
sliders now work properly and it resolved a problem I was having with
chatter/slowdowns when playing CD's through Cyberlink's PowerDVD. Lot's
of fun mix and matching the files! Not! Best for one to wait for the
release unless there's a nagging issue or lots of spare time.

Thats pretty usual... I seem to recall the utility had to be >= the driver
version.

The one in the Beta Win64 pack does the job. The EQ and

Good job though. Better than nVidias, it would seem.
