A weird thing hapenned to Outlook...

J

JOSE MOJICA

I got this HP PC early in January with a 60 day trial v of Microsoft Office
2003 that included Outlook 2003. A few days ago I installed the Teachers and
Students version of Microsoft Office. Before installing it, I had no
problems with Outlook 2003. Now, I can log into Outlook 2003 initially, but
if I get
out of it, I can not log again unless I restart Windows XP Media Center
Edition. I went to Control Panel and repaired the whole installation
without positive results. I would apreciate any tips.
Also, The trial MS Office 2003 version is still on my Hard Disk; Should I
just uninstall it, or is it beter to uninstall everything and install the
Teachers and Students version again...
What is more complete, Outlook Express or Outlook 2003? Or are they the
same?
Thanks, Senior Oldtimer

I would certainly try the full uninstall and reinstall of the Teacher
Student version.
I had to do the same thing with the trial on a Media Centre edition, but I
installed the MSDN version.

Outlook 2003 has a more rich feature set than Outlook Express from a user
standpoint.
Given the choice, I would use 2003 without a doubt.

In spite of their seemingly related namesakes, they are totally different
code bases maintained by different departments within Microsoft. Outlook
Express does handle newsgroups where Outlook does not.
