Last night I ran my regular computer mainanance - cleaned out temp files,
cookies, history etc, ran AdAware, XoftSpy,Microsoft AntiSpyware, and no
issues came up with any of them. I run Avast antivirus and Sygate firewall.
All are latest versions, none have indicated any issues. The system has not
crashed, no blue screens. All my programs appear to work perfectly. System
boots without a glitch.

Every single file that I have created and/or imported and stored on my HD is
where it should be, correct name and file suffix, BUT every single file shows
as 0 bytes size and each one opens normally but displays a blank page be it a
word file, jpeg, pdf, whatever - every single file is EMPTY!

I have tried a system restore, rebootong, nothing so far has brought back
the "lost" files.

Naturally I am befuddled. Can anyone assist to restore my files?

Open Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View tab
Under Advanced Settings, see if the first 5 items are checked,
especially "Display File Size information..etc."
Click Apply and OK.

Hi no one,

Thank ypu for your suggestion. I followed your links, and then followed the
links therein, scanned with F Force and other anti virus programs including
Panda, Trend and Avast but all came back with the same result - my system is
clean.

I also have not detected any of the noted symptoms of Kama Sutra or its
variants as described on various sites including those that you suggested.

Unfortunately, despite your best efforts that does not appear to be my
problem.

Hi Byte,

Thank you for your advice. I did exactly as you said but still the problem
persists. I have also taken elaborate steps to detect if my problem could be
caused by Kama Sutra or one of its variants as suggested by another member
but numerous scans have all came back negative to any viruses, malware,
spyware, trojans, worms, etc.

It's a tricky one this one. It really has me spooked.
