A user on XP, when logging in will not respond

I have two users on my HP Pavillion laptop loaded with XP Media Center.

The other user has been able to use the machine in the past, but now nothing
responds.

I have previously re-delegated the user as a limited account.

What do I do now and what do I check.

There is a bug in the demotion function in User Accounts. You will have to
create a new account, and copy the settings from the old account.
