a tool showing all the programs automatically started after XP isturned on

Hi,

I remember I saw a tool that shows all the programs automatically
started after XP is turned on. The tool also allowed me to delete those
programs from the list if I wanted. The programs in the list are
apparently more than the ones in the start->programs->startup folder.
Can someone who knows this tool remind me what it's? I checked "Tweak
performance" from microsoft but didn't find a similar thing. My XP
recently becomes much slower after being booted. Thank you for any
information.

msconfig.exe is probably what you're thinking of.

msconfig is intended to be used as a troubleshooting tool not a startup
manager.

msconfig does *NOT* list all of the startup locations.

Get StartMan and/or Startup Control Panel and use them instead

StartMan is a GOOD Utility, I use it all the time, especially after
installing software. Everything you install wants to run at startup.
StartMan shows where something starts from. Check out the Help in StartMan
also! You can either have StartMan disable startups or just use it to find
where something is loading from.

StartMan v1.3.96

StartMan v1.3.96 Direct download

Startup Control Panel is another pretty good application.

[[Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to
easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple
to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden your
system. A valuable tool for system administrators!]]

Download the EXE Version and just extract the executable wherever you want.
