I am running Windows 2000 Professional and want to upgrade to
Windows XP Professional. I will be buying 2 copies of the retail, boxed
version of the Windows XP Professional Upgrade (one for my wife's pc and one
for my pc).

Now, I have had system crashes in the past (one very recently, via GoBack).

My question is this. If I have a system crash after I have installed the XP
upgrade, and I have to reinstall XP Pro, will I have to reinstall 2000 pro
first?

Thanks for any help with the answer.

No. You can do a clean install with an upgrade copy. At an early stage
of installation, you'll be asked to provide qualifying media. You'll
simply put in your Win2k install disk as proof.

Also note that it must be an original Windows 2000 CD and nto those "System
Recovery" CDs.

Sorry for late follow-up. I just wanted to says thanks for taking the time
to answer my question.
