A Slow Computer Suggestion

This is a tip for anyone who is experiencing a sluggish system,
especially at startup; and you can't figure out why. I have come to
learn that Norton System Works and Antivirus is a program to be
uninstalled as soon as possible. I was having chronic startup lag, with
system tray icons taking multiple minutes to load. Once I uninstalled
Norton AV, all my slow down problems disappeared and my computer has
less errors overall.
I recommend using AVG Antivirus System from grisoft.com. It consumes
very little resources, and works just as good if not the same as Norton.
You don't sacrifice anything on features, it auto updates and has
heuristics. You also get 2 years of virus database updates for $33.
Just thought I'd let everybody know and hopefully it can help someone
who can't explain a slow computer.

They also have a free version that works well! Not as
many user options but a fine little program.

I have had no problems with norton anti-virus 2004. My computer is not sluggish at all.

I agree.

On the other hand, SystemWorks is not good.

sluggish at all.

What problems have you had with SystemWorks? I have heard about
problems with NTFS using some features and Speed Disk being slow, but
what are your experiences?

I have seen the defrag make machines unbootable. I have seen the registry
cleaner hose the OS and make many things stop working.
And that just scratches the surface.
