A 'restore point' in FP03

Just to get it straight in my muddled mind and search the knowledge base that
is present here in this fount of knowledge (discussion group) .... I have
published my site to a local folder on both the pcs I use to edit FP03. In
the new FP it has a nice looking double sided screen that has choices "remote
to local" or "local to remote" etc.. When I feel I'm going to try something
new I back up my site (when I'm online at my server) from local to my
"remote" folder which I have named 'site backup'. Fortunately I haven't had
to copy over my site yet but I want to ask before I have to do it ..Am I
doing it the right way is this the proper procedure to back myself up?
If I make a mistake and want to restore the site will it be as simple as
going to "publish" then choosing "remote to local" ? Will it overwrite the
whole web and be just the way it was when I backed it up or is there
something else I should watch out for?
Thanks as usual

Sort of.

If your remote web is FP extension enabled you should work on your local
machine and Publish to your remote server. Most people work locally, then
when happy with changes you Publish to the remote. If you are careful...one
of the two will be good in case of a crash. So let's say you mess up your
local copy or your hd fries...you'd then Publish from Remote server to your
local machine and vicey-versy :)
