A problem with Device Manager

All,

I have built and image of XPe for my application using
SP1 and the latest QFE's, starting with the sumemr 03
rollup.

My image works for all of our needs, but I am making sure
all teh functions work properly. And I am down to the
Device Manager. When I right click My COmputer and go to
properties, Hardware, and try to start the Device
Manager, I get a box titled: Microsoft Management
Console, and its only contents are a red disk with white
x, the text : THe selected File cannot be found. and an
ok button.

When I go through the control panel, administrator tools,
Computer Management, I get the default IE was not able to
link to the web page you requested page.

I searched this group and found what appear to be similar
posts, and teh advice was to add the MSXML 3.1 component,
and I made sure both it and the 2.6 component were both
present. I also tried rebooting but that does not change
the behaviour.

Any Suggestions?

have you added Device Manager Component?

Mario,

Many thanks. I had been told it was part of the WMI
components, and had not seen it on the list of components.
But when I went back, it was not in my configuration and
was on the list of available components. And it works
now.
